A friend of mine forwarded me information about an exciting Social Innovation Competition organized by the RGK Center on Philanthropy and Community Service, a research center of the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. This competition is a wonderful way for college and graduate students from all majors to think creatively about solving social problems through new, fresh entrepreneurial ventures.
Although University of Texas students will be able to submit their roposals for this social in December 2007, all other applicants will submit their ideas in the form of an executive summary by February 1, 2008.
Teams entering the competition can be comprised of groups or individuals and must be undergraduate or graduate students from any major. The social venture should be an innovative solution to a pressing social problem. For more information, please check out the Social Innovation Competition website.
